Another 10 days gone and I am no better than I was from my last update. My daughter is still proving to be awesome. She has now started dancing to the “If you are happy and you know” song!
To Netflix or not
This is the hot discussion in our household ATM (at the moment). I was using a Netflix sharing service earlier called Accountbot.io. This allowed me to get Netflix for about Rs.100 per month. Yeah, I do find good bargains. But then again, it was not the best or that legal (sniff). I took an annual subscription and it worked well for 6 months. Now the service has shut down and we no longer have Netflix at home.
While I have covered most of the shows I like, my wife still has a lot of Korean and drama to catch up on. The argument at home now is, should we buy the actual legal Netflix subscription or now. It costs about Rs.200 for the mobile which we clearly don’t want. For the TV version, we will need to pay about Rs.500/month. I don’t see the value in this as the content they are adding ATM is pretty limited.
We do not have cable at home. Instead I do have Amazon Prime, Hotstar VIP (I got this last month using my Flipkart supercoins), Airtel Xstream, Zee5 (both Airtel and Zee5 free due to my Airtel plan). I feel most of this is sufficient and wifey feels she needs to pay the guys at Netflix 500 bucks a month for teenage drama! Let’s see how long I can put up before I am forced to subscribe to the damn thing.
Warning! Accountbot site is still active and they are selling subscriptions. But once you pay you get nothing, so don’t waste your money. They don’t respond or refund after you pay.
My Xbox lineup
I love gaming. As a 90’s kids, I grew up on cartridge games, then Gameboy (borrowed from friends as my parents couldn’t afford to me one). After starting to work, I could not get a PS, PS2 or PS3. About a year back, I picked up the Xbox One at a damn good deal! Here is how it went:
In Jan 2019, I got the Xbox One S for Rs.18,000. This included a free 3 month Xbox Live and Gold subscriptions (worth about Rs.3,000). On top of this, I got 100 Super coins worth about Rs.200. Plus, I got 2% cashback from Cashkaro and another 1% back when paying back the credit card via CRED. Ultimately, I got my Xbox One S for Rs.17,260. The same is still being sold for about Rs.23,000.
Anhow, after I got the Xbox, I bought some games for dirt cheap prices (I will tell you more on how later). As of now, I have not been spending much time playing as I have my baby, Littlesaves and work to take care of. But now since the number of games I need to experience and finish are piling up, I am going to start spending some time on this over the weekends. Here is the list of games I have and cant wait to complete:
- Mass Effect: Andromeda
- Witcher 3
- Diablo 3 (I am a fan of the franchise)
- Fallout 4
- Assassins Creed Unity (Got it for Rs.45 bucks!)
- Assassins Creed Origins
- Assassins Creed Odyssey
Until the next update, see you guys. And once again, wash your hands, stay safe!
