Day 202 on FIRE: Sleep, podcasts and money

202 days and counting on FIRE. I'm having poor sleep owing to too much of gaming and missus is not happy. I also need to start making money on the side.
Day 202 on FIRE Sleep, podcasts and money

It is now over 200 days since I started my FIRE journey. As of April update, I have met 3% of my Rs.5 Crores goal. That is Rs.15 lakhs as savings. This would have been closer to Rs.16 lakhs had it not been for the stupid Corona virus. Still, I suffered little compared to others who have been impacted by COVID-19 in terms of loss of investments and business.

Bringing the sexy into Little Saves

I have been working hard to make the Little Saves website look better. It is a personal whim of mine to design. I have built a lot of websites in the past as a freelance developers. Just that it is hectic with a full time job, writing, family etc. Still, I have spent over a week putting up the current structure, design etc and optimizing it. Hope you guys like the new look and feel.

Sleep is important and I am screwing up big time without proper sleep

Off late, my sleep cycles have gone for a toss! I am up until 4 AM during Fridays and Saturdays playing games on my Xbox or working on the blog. As I said in my last update I have a lot of games to complete. I am currently on Mass Effect Andromeda. Man the graphics are just pure awesome! So many planets and such a vast world to cover! Anyhow, with me staying up so long, my other functionalities are starting to get impacted.

I am being more moody and grumpy. Wifey is complaining more as I am getting up late in the morning and am getting pissed off quite easily!

More importantly, this is starting to impact all my other activities such as exercising, writing my blog, usual office work during the weekdays etc. I am not able to exercise as much, I feel less motivated to. I cannot concentrate that much due to the change in sleep cycles.

I am now relooking at my playing schedules to go t bed on time and just play during the day times.

Podcasts on Personal Finance

You may have noticed that I started putting up some podcasts recently. I have put together 3 episodes so far. Check them out here. They are getting some good attention. But what I am not sure is if it is really adding any value to anybody, so I am in a dilemma if I should continue. I have as of now challenged myself to complete 20 episodes of podcasts and then conduct a survey after that. Based on the feedback from users at that time, I shall continue or close the podcasts.

Investments and side hustles

So I have reached 3% of my goal. Yipee!!! 97% is like climbing the Everest. I still need to get together Rs.4,85,00,000. That is a lot! So I need a lot of self-motivation and determination to get there.

And not to forget, Rs.5 Crores is my stretch target. My actual target is a little over Rs.3 Crores, however I am pushing myself higher. So in order to get there, I need to not just save money and be frugal. But I need to start earning more as side income via gigs and hustles. I am now looking at ways to start some side income jobs and gigs such as Fiverr, Freelancer etc. I shall keep you updated on what I come up with.

Here are some funny stuff I came across recently. Take care for now.
