I start with a total of Rs.1,50,000 invested across a diverse portfolio of stocks. Here is my October’19 – Stock Market Investments updates. Most of these investments will be for a short to mid term period. The remaining money I had for the month I invested into Mutual Funds.
Indian Stock Market in Oct’19
The Indian stock market in the month of October was in a pretty bad shape. A definite buy if you ask me. Many excellent stocks such as Bank of Baroda, Motherson etc were trading at dirt cheap values. I decided to split my money across a few gambles that may pay of as well as a few mid term bets.
- SUZLON: This might be a surprise to most of you, why would anyone buy a debt saddled company that has a bleak future at best. Well I picked up a few shares for sentimental values. I have been trading in the markets for over 10 years and this was a favorite of mine back in those days (and yes, anyone who went through my life story, I have been trading from college days)
- RELCAPITAL & RPOWER: These two seemed to be in deep trouble in Oct’19. I decided to gamble here as it was clear that some big whales were gaming with Anil Ambani stocks. I also went against picking up RINFRA as the realty sector was a mess with the recent troubles with INDIABULLS and DHFL
- All the other picks for the month were based on fundamental values, the stocks were strong, had good businesses and great outlook for the future. And almost all of them were way below their book values.
- After picking all stocks, I was still left with Rs.27K of my initial 1.5 lakhs. I let this stay idle in anticipation for some good opportunities
